What type of wood is used for wooden menus?
90% of our wooden menu is made from ply wood. Using solid wood is not a common choice, unless you are specifically seeking a menu with a thick wooden texture. Thick solid wooden menu will range from a thickness of 18mm and up.
Why is it not possible to use thinner solid wooden menus?
In order to achieve a larger surface area, it is often necessary to join together multiple solid wood pieces, as tree trunks are not naturally large enough. It is not recommended to be thin as it may break easily due to joining. Because of this reason, plywood is used instead. When it comes to large surface areas, plywood is often stronger.
What is the thickness of the ply wooden menu?
Our wooden menus are available in three thickness options: 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm. While preferences may vary, the majority of our customers tend to choose the sleek and elegant 3mm thickness.
What other colour options do we have for the wooden materials?
Our cover material can be stained in a variety of colours, according to the customer's preference. Please reference our wooden colour chart. It's important to note that due to the material of wood, we cannot guarantee an exact colour match from the chart. We can strive to go closer to capturing your desire colour, but fully replicating a PANTONEcolour is an impossible task.
What does "unfinished wood" mean?
Unfinished wood means it's like a blank canvas. It hasn't been painted, stained, or coated with anything yet.
What's "lacquer wood"?
Think of lacquer as a fancy protective layer that makes wood a little gloss and smooth. It's like a clear coat that adds a polished look while keeping the wood safe. The lacquer can be matt finish or glossy finish.
Remember, these menus aren't just about listing dishes – they're about adding a touch of your style to your dining experience. Bon appétit!
